Consider your takeaways from the Inclusivity & Equity Conference last week as well as the OCT Ethical Standards for the Teaching Profession
1. Minimizing barriers in our education system by dismantling social issues


2. replace bully's power for positive power like helping others, leadership program
3. Everyone has it's own story, different class and family, your norm may not be the others, try to look under the person's shoe, even with low ability child's micro space growth means a lot
4.Equity is not final destination but doesn’t address root problem, it’s an action, Removing barrier is a much better way.
5 Allyship: Be aware social and economic justice practice allyship

OCT Ethical Standards for the teaching profession
Care: every student come from different background, get to know students interests, family, different culture background and accept without so-called “standard bias what a norm suppose to looks like” so they have a sense of belonging and later contribute to the bigger community. Respect: student’s gender, spiritual, identity, language, ethnocultural, ability/needs, values differences. Honor student’s basic human rights and embrace fairness, students’ privacy. Trust: build a trusting relationship between students, parents. Trust students that they have the ability to be the best of themselves and create a safe learning environment. Integrity: ethical standard of integrity, students will be honest, respect societal norms, and act in ways consistent with the values, beliefs, and moral principles they claim to hold Collaborative learning: placing students together to age, not ability level and learning from each other. Differentiated instruction and UDL: provide texts, resources and learning materials that reflect the diversity of culture. visual learning aids, Assistive technology, computers, laptops, different learning materials. Diversity: Build classroom by celebrating individuality and give students a platform to share what makes them different
