Lesson Planning Analysis 1

1. Go through your FE I e-binder and locate a lesson that went well.

It will be science class, students build earthquake proof building. They all have instruction sheets, sketch sheet, budget sheet, cheques to purchase materials.

2. Questions to consider and then discuss:

a) Why do you consider this a lesson that went well?

It's a lesson combine math, calculation (budget cost), art (sketch of design), purchase material, build with materials and science using different ways taught in the previous lessons.

b) What is the focus of your rationale for it going well? (content of lesson, classroom management, you as a teacher, your students, your associate teacher, instructional strategy, planning, etc.)

I did a lot of planning in this lesson by going to home depot, dollar store to purchase all the materials, students are super engaging, I made the lesson as in real life situation each team are like engineering company budgeting cost for the building they will be building.

c) What things did YOU do to contribute to the success of the lesson?

Lots of planning at the beginning, I also build multiple buildings by demonstrating different ways taught in the class that made buildings earthquake proof so students have some ideas how it looks like.

d) Review your reflection entry for that lesson.

e) What is the focus of your reflective entry?

Engagement of students they are participate fully and all work as a team

f) How did you know that your learners learned?

Throughout the building process I guide them for different ideas and some team will use damper and isolated base means they understand different concepts of earthquake proof buildings how are they designed. At the very end of last week students have to build a shake table. All the buildings they build will go through shake table.

g) What might you have done differently? Why?

I wish I could stay longer to see the test since students are still in the process of building. Maybe try using different materials as well to see if using different materials will change the effect, like using straws instead of just popsicles.

Lesson Planning Analysis 2

1. Go through your FE I e-binder and locate a lesson that DID NOT go well OR did not go AS well as the previous lesson you talked about.

It will be my day one first lesson when i was teaching music for rondo form

2. Questions to consider and then discuss:

a) Why do you consider this a lesson that DID NOT go well?

I went through many materials that I thought I only have one class to cover everything and i skip the hook thought I will not have enough time to go through everything.

b) What is the focus of your rationale for it not going well? (content of lesson, classroom management, you as a teacher, your students, your associate teacher, instructional strategy, planning, etc.)

I planned a lot of the materials as content of lesson I need to focus on one big idea that what I want my students to learn even though it's okay as an intro lesson to give in as much information as possible.

c) What things did YOU do/not do that contributed to the lesson not going well?

I went through quickly with all the materials and activities and rush through by asking many questions and not giving student's enough time to answer and also I skip hook that I made a short video about myself.

d) Review your reflection entry for that lesson.

e) What is the focus of your reflective entry?

content of lesson, time management and need to focus on one big idea that what I want my student to learn even just as an intro lesson.

f) What might you have done differently? Why?

I will do what I planned at the very beginning, ask students questions about me as an intro, then put on the video to introduce myself then just focus on what is basic music elements before teaching rondo form. As I think at this point need to learn what is my five weeks plan for teaching rondo form for unit lessons instead of one lesson plan.
